Bsk Bijelo Brdo

Dawson Bojanić kept goal for BSK Bijelo Brdo long before Australian supporters knew his name, and in goalkeeper Nenad Erić's case, build a career in Kazakhstan.

Founded in 1935 and only formally registered in 1953, the club fell inactive before being revived in 2002, starting again from the fifth tier of Croatian football. Progress since then has come in stages rather than leaps: the 4.HNL – East title in 2010–11, then the Treća HNL – East a year later, though the club could not obtain a licence to go up to the Second League at the time. League expansion in 2018 finally moved BSK Bijelo Brdo into the Druga HNL, and in 2021–22 it climbed further still, into the Prva NL, the second tier of the restructured Croatian pyramid. That same season the club reached the quarter-finals of the Croatian Football Cup, its best run in the competition.

Domestically, the Osijek-Baranja County Cup has been the more familiar prize, won six times between 2009–10 and 2020–21. Fixtures against NK Zrinski Osječko 1664 and HNK Vukovar 1991 carry the weight of regional rivalry, spoken of locally as Slavonian derbies even without an official name attached.

The club still plays in white and blue, the colours behind the "Bijelo-plavi" nickname, at Stadion BSK Bijelo Brdo.
