Aino Kröger moved on to KuPS and the senior national side. That 2018 run, which ended in third place, remains the furthest the squad has gone at a European finals, and it carried them to the group stage of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay the same year. Finland have been back at the European finals twice since, in 2022 and 2024, without getting past the group stage either time.
There is no club shirt to grow into here: the squad is assembled from players scattered across Finnish sides and abroad, among them Amanda Rantanen at Linköping and Tiia Peltonen at Nordsjælland, and it trains and plays mostly at Eerikkilä, the sports resort in Tammela.
Erkka Lehtola has been in charge of the age group this year. The next fixed point on the calendar is 2027, when Finland will host the European Under-17 Championship themselves.
