Hartpury University

King Baidoo scored 33 goals in 31 starts for Hartpury and earned a call-up to the England Universities national team. The club exists because Hartpury College, which became a university in 2018, wanted a route into senior football for students from 16 upwards, drawing players through its own academy. Abdul Majeed Waris, Mustapha Bundu and Matt Smith all came through that academy, and Laiith Fairnie left for a professional contract at Birmingham City in 2023. Founded in 2020, the side known as the Acorns won the Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division in its second season, then took the Hellenic League Division One title and followed it with the Hellenic League Premier Division as champions the year after. Games against Lydney Town are billed locally as the Dean Derby, played out at the Hartpury University Stadium, a 2,000-capacity ground shared with the university's rugby club.
