In the 2024 Myanmar Women's League, ISPE went through the season unbeaten, and the club's forward, Lin Myint Mo, finished it with 19 goals and the Golden Boot. That title, the third in six years, carried the women's side into the group stage of the 2025–26 AFC Women's Champions League.

The men's team has followed a slower path. Promoted after finishing runners-up in the second-tier MNL-2 in 2019, it took ninth place in its first Myanmar National League season and needed until 2023 to climb to second runners-up.

The institute behind the club has produced its own players rather than bought them in. Goalkeeper Zin Nyi Nyi Aung came through the ISPE academy and made his Myanmar debut in 2024; forward Soe Min Oo, once a national-team regular, also learned the game there.

Home matches are played in front of a capacity of just over 30,500 at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium, shared with the city's football. Mandalay has one other club of note, Yadanarbon, and meetings between the two are billed locally as the Mandalay Derby, though the fixture lacks the weight of the rivalries in Yangon.

Founded in 2016, ISPE now carries two contrasting records into the new season: a women's team and a men's team still working toward its first top-flight trophy.
