Moneyfields

The Wessex League Premier Division title finally came in 2023–24. Moneyfields had topped the same table once before, in 2016–17, only to be stripped of it by the Football Association after fielding an ineligible player. That earlier season still carried them up to the Southern League on the pitch, even with the trophy taken away. The pandemic then forced a retreat in the other direction — falling attendances and thinning finances pushed the club to step back down to the Wessex League voluntarily in 2021 rather than fight to stay at a higher level it could no longer afford. The 2023–24 championship put them back in the Isthmian League, at Step 4.

The club started out in 1987 as Portsmouth Civil Service. Locally it is known simply as The Moneys, playing in yellow shirts with navy shorts. Five Portsmouth Senior Cups, spread from the early 1990s through to 2019–20, sit alongside two Hampshire Intermediate Cups won back to back in 1991–92 and 1992–93.

Rowan Vine, who had played in the Premier League before dropping into non-league football, joined as player-coach in 2019, while Vincent Péricard brought a career that had taken in Juventus and Portsmouth before he arrived at Moneyfields in 2015.
