Pagham

In the 2016–17 season Pagham lifted the Sussex County League Cup for the first time since 1988–89. Nyetimber Lane, tucked between Pagham and Bognor Regis, has watched most of that story unfold.

The club took shape in 1903, and its honours board reads almost entirely in Sussex County League and West Sussex Football League terms rather than anything higher. That is not a small distinction locally: Pagham won the Sussex County League Division One three times, in 1980–81, 1987–88 and 1988–89, and took Division Two on three separate occasions spanning nearly thirty years, from 1978–79 to 2006–07. The 1988–89 season stands out on its own, a double of Division One and the League Cup in the same campaign.

Before the county league became the club's proving ground, Pagham had already done the same at West Sussex Football League level, winning the Premier Division three times in the late 1960s. Black and white have stayed the club's colours throughout, and 1,500 is as many as Nyetimber Lane has ever needed to hold.
