Valk 494

Välk 494 grew from that into the only serious challenger Tallinn hockey has had for three decades, and by result it has long since overtaken the capital: fourteen Meistriliiga titles, most recently in 2025, against a record that includes 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2002 among the earliest. The two Estonian Cups, both won in 1997 and 1998, sit at the start of that run rather than spread through it.

Between 2007 and 2018 the club carried the name Tartu Kalev-Välk before reverting to Välk 494. Vassili Titarenko remains the player against whom everyone else at the club is measured: 284 games, 327 goals and 586 points make him the franchise's all-time leader across every major scoring category.

Games are played at the Lõunakeskus Ice Hall, also known as Astri Arena, which holds 600. Domestic rivalries run against the Tallinn clubs HC Panter and HC Vipers, though without the weight of a named derby. Continental Cup and Baltic Hockey League entries have given Välk 494 a look at hockey outside Estonia's own league.
