Lamar Lima took the bench at Vila Real in June 2026, a year into a club that was formed after an investment group linked to Vybbe, the production company behind artists such as Nattan and Avine Vinny, decided Sobral needed a team. The name was announced on 23 May 2025 at a ceremony in the Icetel auditorium, chosen to echo Sobral's old title of "Vila Distinta e Real."
The club took its Série C place in the Campeonato Cearense and finished third in that first season. Estádio do Junco, known formally as Estádio Municipal Plácido Aderaldo Castelo and holding 10,000, became home ground.
