Arena Nürnberger Versicherung

Arena Nürnberger Versicherung stands in Nuremberg. The architect, Glöckner Architekten, designed it as a multipurpose hall from the start, which is why the seating configuration shifts so drastically between a hockey match and a rock concert.

The building arrived in 2001. A renovation in 2011, timed to mark the arena’s tenth anniversary, updated the lighting and installed new LED boards, though the owner, the consortium Nürnberg Arena 2000 Projektgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, kept the cost of that work out of the public record. The sponsorship changes followed a predictable cycle: the venue opened as Arena Nürnberg, switched to Arena Nürnberger Versicherung in 2005, and moved to PSD Bank Nürnberg Arena in July 2025. The name plates on the exterior simply change with the contract.
