Arena Skövde
Skövde, Sweden
The facility sits in Skövde, where the local clubs have played since the building opened. Before the new hall was ready, the teams used the old Skövde Idrottshall. When the arena arrived in 2001, both the men's side, IFK Skövde HK, and the women's team, Skövde HF, moved in together. They still play there.
The space is big enough for 2,516 people, though the number is not a record held by the ground. That work took three years and added a bowling alley and a sports bar. Some of the extra room is for standing spectators, while others pay for VIP seats. The building belongs to the municipality.
It is not just for handball. The hall has hosted the 2002 European Men's Handball Championship and the 2006 European Women's Handball Championship. It also staged matches during the 2011 World Men's Handball Championship. Beyond the sports, the venue hosts the Viking Cup taekwondo competition and concerts, including performances by Bo Kaspers Orkester. The pitch is not natural grass; it is an indoor surface standard for these games.
There is no attendance record for a match at the arena, although a cup final drew a large crowd at a different location in 2007. The site is not famous for its age, but for the work done to it over time. The 2009 phase improved the facilities.
