Åse & Viste Arena
Grästorp, Sweden
Formerly: Grästorps Ishall
Åse & Viste Arena does not follow the standard template of a modern sports venue. Built in 1978, it stands in the Lunnevi sports area. Originally known as Grästorps Ishall, the name changed only when a local savings bank, Åse & Viste Sparbank, secured the naming rights. The structure itself is unpretentious: two concrete stands, one to the east and one to the north.
The facility is exclusively an ice rink. There is no grass, no turf, and no multi-purpose flexibility. It is a dedicated box for HockeyEttan games, where the club plays its home fixtures. The surface is natural ice, maintained through the long winters of Västra Götaland County. While Grästorp does have a football club, their ground, Lunnevi IP, is a separate entity within the same complex, meaning this arena has never seen a football boot. It is a quiet place, often used for junior tournaments like GP-Pucken, where young players learn the game away from the press.
Attendance figures are sparse in public records, with sources disagreeing on whether the capacity sits at 1,060 or 1,100. The difference is marginal in a town this size. The arena does not host concerts or large-scale events; it exists for the ice hockey season. The official website belongs to the hockey club, not the building, which reflects the simple hierarchy of the facility. It is a functional space, open since the late seventies, serving the community through the same routine year after year.
