It went up in 1931 after the city council decided the football side of Kolding IF deserved better than the pitch it had been using, and paid for the build itself.
A more targeted upgrade followed in 2006: a direct walkway from the cafeteria, and a VIP section built into the east stand with 140 hospitality seats alongside 40 regular ones. That work left the east stand holding 1,517 spectators on its own.
The pitch has also hosted Denmark women's national team and youth internationals, including under-17 and women's under-19 fixtures in 2007.
