Charentsavan City Stadium

The pitch is the centre of gravity here. Originally natural grass, the surface changed in September 2016 when the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) financed a switch to artificial turf. This coincided with the city being named the 'Youth Capital of Armenia' in 2017. The change brought a different rhythm to the matches played here.

FC Van has made the ground their home since 2019. The club’s arrival shifted the local focus. Before them, FC Moush played here until 1994, and FC Zenit appeared in the Armenian First League in 2004–2005. Now, the club’s presence gives the stadium a steady purpose beyond the occasional cup tie.

The stadium opened in 1970, though the exact architect is not recorded. Renovations in 2016 and 2019 added an all-seater configuration, bringing the total capacity to 5,000. The stands are simple concrete structures, open to the sky. The Athletics Championship of Armenia is held here, showing the ground serves the community in different ways.

Notable matches have passed through these gates. FC Ararat used the venue as a temporary home in February 2022 to ensure their Premier League matches were played on the new surface. They hosted Ararat-Armenia and Noah there. More recently, the 2024–25 Armenian Cup quarter-final between FC Urartu and Ararat-Armenia ended in a 0–0 draw on March 5, 2025. The crowd cheered them on during the cup tie, though no official attendance record exists for the event. The stadium sits in the Kotayk Province, owned by the Charentsavan Town Council. It is a functional space, defined by its weathered concrete and the bright green of the artificial pitch.
