Crypto.com Arena
Los Angeles, United States
Formerly: Staples Center
The building is known as Crypto.com Arena, though it opened as the Staples Center in 1999. It sits within the L.A. Live complex, next to the convention centre, and holds three major teams: the Lakers, the Kings, and the Sparks. The Clippers left for a new venue in Inglewood in 2024. A major renovation began in 2022, involving over a billion dollars in upgrades, though the seating layout remains largely unchanged. The name changed in December 2021 after a sponsorship deal, but the old title still sticks with many locals.
What sets this ground apart is not its age but its role as a shared home for basketball and hockey in the same city. Few arenas hold two major franchises at once, let alone three.
