What went up in 1951 was one of the largest stadiums in the Netherlands at the time, holding somewhere between 25,000 and 30,000 spectators. That old structure came down in 1996, and a new stadium opened in its place in April 1997, seating a modest 4,500.
The name on the front has moved around more than the ground itself. FC Den Bosch's home has carried sponsor names in succession — Ecco-Stadion, then Brainwash Stadion De Vliert, then Timmermans Infra Stadion De Vliert.
