The ground sits on a university campus in Carson, on the grounds of California State University, Dominguez Hills. AEG built it, Rossetti designed it, and PCL put it up; the soccer stadium alone accounted for roughly $87 million of about $150 million spent on the wider complex.
It opened as the Home Depot Center , became the StubHub Center , and is now Dignity Health Sports Park .
The Chargers arrived in 2017 and spent $10 million adapting a football-specific ground to the NFL — bleachers on the northern berm and in the corners for another thousand seats, rebuilt suites, a press box. When they left in 2019 it all came out again and the stadium went back to what it was.
The record crowd came on 25 February 2024: 27,642 for the Galaxy against Inter Miami, a 1-1 draw, with Lionel Messi the reason for the attendance. Rugby sevens and field hockey are booked in for the 2028 Olympics.
