Olymp Sports Palace

Krasnodar, Russia

It opened on 28 December 2003 after construction began in March 2002, and it remains the city’s primary indoor venue for volleyball, basketball and handball. The capacity sits at approximately 3,270, with the fixed seating and the soft parterre together making up the number the administration publishes.

The building was funded jointly by the Krasnodar Krai and the City administration, the Krai covering half the cost. It is a dry arena. There is no ice rink in the main hall, and the floor is a standard indoor sports surface, though whether it is wooden parquet or synthetic is not specified.

The arena hosts Dinamo Krasnodar for volleyball and two handball clubs, Kuban Krasnodar and SKIF Krasnodar. It also takes concerts, but the layout is set for sport.

The address is Beregovaya Street, 144. The official website is dsolimp.ru. Some sources list the capacity as 3,000 or 2,600, referring only to the fixed seats, but the full figure includes the parterre. The venue has not had any other official name, though English-language material sometimes calls it Olympus Arena.
