Eisstadion Kleinholz

The structure in Olten is defined by its purpose rather than its size. It is an indoor ice hockey arena built for a community that needed a place to play. The facility was constructed by the Kunsteisbahngenossenschaft Kleinholz Olten, a cooperative formed by locals who pooled their resources to build the rink. Members of the EHC Olten first team helped lay the cooling pipes during their training sessions.

The exterior tells a story of adaptation. A major renovation completed in the mid-2010s brought a new south stand and a completely renewed roof. This work included the installation of a photovoltaic system to power the refrigeration plant that keeps the artificial ice frozen. The current capacity sits at 5,384, a figure that reflects the practical adjustments made during that period.

The architecture is functional, with a clear distinction between the spectator areas and the technical heart of the building. The seating is divided into stands. The entrance is marked by the new south stand, which serves as the primary access point for fans arriving for matches. The facility also shares its grounds with the adjacent Stadion Kleinholz, creating a sports complex that supports both ice hockey and field hockey in the town.
