Estádio Ary de Oliveira e Souza (Aryzão)

Nine of January, 1938: that is the date carved into the Aryzão's founding. For sixteen years it went by a plainer name, Estádio da Cidade, before the club renamed it in 1954 for Ary de Oliveira e Souza, a former Goytacaz president.

The record crowd dates to 1 September 1978, when 15,000 people packed in to watch Flamengo edge Goytacaz 1-0. The pitch itself waited almost four decades for its next full resurfacing: work in 2017 replaced the turf for the first time since 1982 and brought in a new irrigation system alongside repairs to the dressing rooms and stands. That renovation did not settle matters for long. In February 2018, with the ground barred from hosting fans over safety concerns, supporters organised their own multirão — an improvised, hands-on repair effort — to get the stadium cleared in time for a decisive match.

Goytacaz Futebol Clube remains the ground's owner and principal tenant, though Americano Futebol Clube also called the Aryzão home between 2021 and 2023 while its own stadium stood unfinished.
