Estadio Ciro López

Popayán's colours belong to Universitario, but Universitario itself is gone — the club that once called Ciro López home folded in May 2019, its licence carried off to build Boca Juniors de Cali. What's left is a ground without a tenant, run by the Liga Caucana de Fútbol. The stadium first opened in the centre of the city. Age has caught up with it: by most accounts the facility is in poor shape, the kind of wear that comes from decades without a permanent club to justify the upkeep. That absence of a resident tenant is the whole story now — not a stadium waiting for its next match, but one waiting to find out who it belongs to.
