The old Vivaldão came down first. Estádio Municipal Jornalista Carlos Zamith went up on the same ground in Coroado, on Alameda Cosme Ferreira, work starting in August 2013 and the gates opening the following July, timed to double as a training base during the 2014 World Cup rather than to host matches of it.

What it lost against its predecessor is size. Vivaldão had been Manaus's biggest ground; Zamith holds 6,500, a fraction of that. What it kept is the pitch itself, a full-size natural surface built for professional football rather than for spectacle, and that has shaped what the stadium is actually for. Amazonas FC play their football here, with Manauara EC and Nacional also using the ground, and none of them are drawing crowds that stretch the capacity most weekends.

The one night it did fill was 8 July 2024, when Amazonas hosted Vila Nova in Série B and 7,427 people found their way in, past the stated limit, a rare instance of this stadium behaving like a bigger one. Andrade Gutierrez has run the site since it opened; there is no club shirt sponsor's name attached, no rebrand, nothing to suggest the venue has been anything other than what it was built as, a municipal ground doing municipal work in a city where the World Cup arena down the road took all the attention in 2014.
