Gradski stadion Prijedor

Gradski stadion Prijedor holds the kind of history that is not written in record books but in the lives of the town. It opened in 1952, long before the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina divided the region, and served as the home of OFK Prijedor until the early 1990s. FK Rudar Prijedor moved to the ground in the late 1970s and took over the pitch after the conflict ended, when the older club ceased operations. The club won the First League of the Republika Srpska in 2008–09, 2014–15 and 2020–21, and reached the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2009–10.

The stadium has an athletic track and floodlights, and the surface is natural grass. The capacity stands at 3,540, a figure that has fallen from the 5,000 to 6,000 reported in the 1980s. The reduction came after renovations in 2009 and 2012, which added a new eastern stand and replaced the drainage system to meet safety rules, removing standing areas in the process.

Some matches here have drawn attention beyond the local league. On May 1971 FK Rudar Prijedor played a Yugoslav First League qualification match against Spartak Subotica in front of a crowd of 10,000 spectators. In 1990, during the Yugoslav Cup semi-final against FK Velež Mostar, the return leg in Prijedor was attended by 6,000 spectators. The club also reached the semi-finals of the Yugoslav Cup in 1989, losing to Velež Mostar on penalties. The stadium has hosted local cup finals, including the 2014 City Cup.

The ground is owned by the Municipality of Prijedor. It has kept its name through all changes.
