It is named for Ya'akov 'Yankele' Grundman, a player who once wore the armband for the national team; the name was added in 2004, a decade after the ground opened. The highest attendance recorded was 3,000, for a match against Hapoel Be'er Sheva in 2014, a game the home side lost four goals to nothing.
