Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa
Gryfino, Poland
The Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa is a two-storey block of glass and concrete at ul. Niepodległości 16. The building is a modern addition to the town, handed to the Municipality of Gryfino in September 2020 by the developer Moris Polska. It is a quiet structure and it serves as the home of the professional handball club PGE KPR Gryfino.
The club, founded in 2017 following a predecessor from 1979, plays its matches on the parquet floor inside. The hall holds 289 spectators in fixed seats on the second level, a capacity that remains steady through the years. For larger conferences, the arrangement changes to accommodate more, but for sport, the space is tight and focused. The local school also uses the venue, but the hall is defined by the handball team that calls it home.
The location is distinct. It is not a temple of football, nor does it have a long history of renovation; it is a new facility. The club has not sought sponsorship names, and the hall remains simply the Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa.
Inside, the court can fit up to ten smaller pitches, though the main hall is used for the top-flight matches. The atmosphere is not loud or chaotic; it is a functional space for sport. The hall is managed by the local sports and recreation center, CSiR Gryfino, which oversees all bookings and events.
The building does not have a website of its own, and information about the club and its matches is found on the municipality's site or the team's own pages. It is a modest ground, but one that serves its community well.
