Halden Ishall
Halden, Norway
The arena was not in full operational use for hockey until January 1, 1998, though the building itself opened in 1987. A major expansion between 2007 and 2009 added a new hall section, increasing the capacity to 2,200 seats. The original capacity was only 1,200 standing places.
IK Comet has called this venue home since the arena opened. The club's youth teams, including Comet Halden U17, U18, and U21, also train here. Halden Curlingklubb maintains its own ice surface within the complex, a reminder of the arena's broader role in the community.
The attendance record of 1,923 spectators was set on March 25, 2023, during a qualification match between Comet Halden and Lørenskog. The official ticketable capacity sits at 1,991 due to safety regulations. Beyond hockey, the venue hosts inline tournaments, dance galas, car exhibitions, and skiing events throughout the year.
A lighting system renovation using LAMA+ LED technology was completed in 2008, updating the illumination across the playing surface. The arena sits at Blokkveien 39 in the town of Halden, in Østfold county, southeastern Norway. The architect behind the original design was SG Arkitekter. The venue has consistently been known as Halden Ishall since its opening, never adopting a former name.
