Home Monitoring Aréna

The structure began as an open-air rink in 1950, before the first roof went up between 1966 and 1970. A fire in 1992 stripped the interior and forced a complete overhaul of the cooling system, replacing brine with ammonia. That renovation also saw a second ice rink built next door, a practical addition for training that is not visible from the street.

The building took its current angular shape during a major rebuild for the 2005 IIHF World U18 Championships, where modernized seating and a multimedia cube were installed under the roof. The capacity sits at 8,236, a number that has not shifted since the last round of upgrades in 2024, which focused on lighting and signage. The record crowd for a Czech Extraliga match sits at that same figure, set during a fixture against HC Sparta Praha. The venue has swapped names several times, moving from the Zimní stadión města Plzně to the ČEZ Aréna, and now to the Home Monitoring Aréna.
