Ice Skating Center Mechelen

It opened in September 2016, a private initiative by Gunther Bosmans, his wife Kathleen Geerts, and Wim De Ryck, built by Bolckmans NV for 3.8 million euros. The Mechelen Golden Sharks play their home games here. They compete in the Central European Hockey League, which replaced the BeNe League. The arena also gives space to their feeder club, Future Golden Sharks, the women’s team known as the Lady Sharks, and the local outfit Hivernia. It is more than just a hockey rink. The facility is open for public skating, figure skating, and short track throughout the year. In September 2019, the venue hosted Group B of the First Round of the 2019–20 IIHF Continental Cup, bringing together teams from Belgium, Croatia, Israel, and Spain. On December 15, 2024, it staged the World Ice Skating Day gala, featuring Belgian stars Loena Hendrickx and Nina Pinzarrone. The spectator capacity sits at 1,800. It is situated at Spuibeekstraat 1 in Mechelen, Belgium.
