Ischelandhalle

The Ischelandhalle sits in the Altenhagen district of Hagen. It opened on January 15, 1966. The original 1,800 seats have since been doubled, with a major expansion completed in October 2010 adding 7,500 square meters of floor area to meet Basketball Bundesliga requirements.

The parquet floor is covered by an artificial surface, a practical choice for a venue that hosts Phoenix Hagen basketball, TTC Hagen table tennis, and VfL Eintracht Hagen handball. During the renovation by Schmahl + Gerigk Architekten, which cost 8.7 million Euros, the capacity was raised to 3,145. The hall reopened on October 31, 2010, with a match between Phoenix Hagen and EnBW Ludwigsburg.

The highest reported attendance was approximately 4,000 spectators for the 1974 BBL Final between SSV Hagen and USC Heidelberg, though this exceeded the official licensed capacity of 1,800 at the time due to standing room. More recently, the most official attendance record for a specific sport is 2,102 for a DHB-Pokal handball match in September 2024.

The arena has worn several names due to sponsorship: it was known as ENERVIE Arena im Sportpark Ischeland from 2010 to 2015, and Krollmann Arena from 2018 to 2023. It is now simply the Ischelandhalle again. The venue is scheduled to host qualifying matches for the FISU World University Games 2025 in July 2025.
