Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Stadium
Kuwait City, Kuwait
Formerly: Sulaibikhat Stadium
Sulaibikhat sits on the shore of Kuwait Bay, and the ground built there is the first in the country designed purely for football, with no running track ringing the pitch. That single decision sets it apart from the older venues around Kuwait City.
The stadium replaced a modest predecessor of the same district name, a gravel-tracked ground that had served Sulaibikhat for years before construction on the new build began in 2021. Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Stadium opened on 11 December 2024.
The name carries its own weight. Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the former prime minister after whom the stadium is named, died in September 2024, only months before the gates opened.
The pitch is laid with hybrid turf, a stitched blend of natural and synthetic grass.
