JFE Harenokuni Stadium

The ground sits within the Okayama Prefectural Multipurpose Grounds, an area that has hosted the National Sports Festival on two occasions. The pitch itself is natural grass, kept crisp and green under the open sky. The club that calls this home, Fagiano Okayama, plays in the top flight of Japanese football, known as the J1 League.

The stadium has a long history, having opened in 1957 on the site of a former Imperial Japanese Army training ground. It has undergone significant changes since then, most notably a renovation between 2001 and 2003 designed by architect Eiji Mitooka, who was also involved in Shinkansen design. The venue has seen many different names over the decades, shifting from Okayama Prefectural Ground Athletics Stadium to Kanko Stadium, then City Light Stadium, before adopting its current title following a sponsorship deal with JFE Steel in 2025.
