Jubilee Sports Palace
Saint Petersburg, Russia
The Jubilee Sports Palace sits on Prospekt Dobrolyubova in the Petrogradsky District.
Construction began in 1965 and the venue opened in 1967, originally named 'Palace of Sports of Leningrad Trade Unions "Jubilee"' to mark the 50th anniversary of Soviet power. The name has remained unchanged through several phases of renovation. The site hosted the 2000 Ice Hockey World Championship and later the 2016 IIHF World Championship.
The arena is currently home to HC Dynamo Saint Petersburg of the Supreme Hockey League and BC Zenit of the VTB United League since 2016. It also accommodates the Jubilee Sport Club, associated with figure skating coach Alexei Mishin. The official capacity is cited as 6,381 spectators following the reconstruction completed in 2016, though the official website and Kassir.ru list the figure as 'more than 7,000' for the main arena, reflecting the inclusion of the VIP zone for 300 people and the secondary arena with a capacity of 1,500.
