Kunsteisbahn Küsnacht
Küsnacht, Switzerland
Kunsteisbahn Küsnacht sits at Johannisburgstrasse 11. Opened in 1962, the facility predates the modern era of Swiss ice hockey.
In 1993, the complex received a major expansion that added a new arena structure and spectator stands. Today, it houses the GCK Lions, a farm team of the ZSC Lions that competes in the Swiss League, alongside SC Küsnacht and various youth sides.
The most significant recent change occurred between 2022 and 2023. The municipality invested approximately CHF 16.7 million in a renovation that integrated the rink into an anergy network, utilizing 50 geothermal probes and decentralized heat pumps. The arena reopened on January 28, 2023, after ten months of closure. While the seating capacity has been adjusted to 1,520—down from historical figures of 2,200 or 2,800—the facility retains its outdoor ice field and a four-rink curling hall.
