Městský sportovní areál

Nothing about Městský sportovní areál sets out to impress; it is Písek's only ground of any note, and that alone has kept FC Písek here since the current complex went up in 1973. Building started that year on Burketova, in the Václavské Předměstí district, and by 1976 a second grass pitch had opened alongside the main one — enough for a club that has spent its history in the Czech third tier rather than chasing anything higher. The old field the town used before that, over on Slovenského národního povstání street, was shut in February 1970 once its condition became unworkable, which is part of why the move to Burketova happened at all.

A third surface, an artificial pitch, was added in 2006. The main ground itself has stayed natural grass throughout. There is no record of a naming sponsor or an earlier name for the stadium — it has been the Městský sportovní areál for as long as it has stood, no rebrand, no corporate tag attached.

Crowds here have always been modest. Average attendance in the 2010/11 season came to 398, a figure that fits a club whose main excitement comes from the odd Czech Cup draw against top-flight opposition — Viktoria Žižkov twice, in 2011 and again in 2024, Teplice in 2019, Slovan Liberec in 2016. None of those visits left behind a published attendance figure, and no reconstruction of the stands, with cost or date attached, appears in any record. The club's own site mentions only that the under-19 changing rooms were refurbished with support from the South Bohemian Region and the city, without saying when.
