Moss Rose

The ground on London Road is still called the Moss Rose, though the main stand carries the name Leasing.com Stadium after a deal signed in October 2021. The structure is older than most of its neighbours: it opened on 12 September 1891, which means it has survived longer than the club that currently calls it home. Macclesfield F.C. was formed in the wake of the previous club’s liquidation in September 2020 and took over a facility that had seen better days.

What is visible now is different from what was there before. The surface is a 4G artificial pitch, laid down after the takeover, and it covers an area of 100m by 60m. The stands are four distinct blocks: the main stand, which dates back to 1968, and three others that have taken on local sponsors over the years. The capacity has been reduced to 5,350, with 2,095 seats under cover, a drop from the 6,355 the place once held.

The stadium hosted Chester City F.C. between 1990 and 1992 while they moved to the Deva Stadium, and it has seen foreign visitors since. On 10 January 2026, a side from the lower leagues beat Premier League Crystal Palace 2–1 in the FA Cup Third Round. The record attendance remains 10,041, set in a Cheshire Senior Cup semi-final on 19 March 1948. There has been investment since 2024, over £4 million spent on the pitch and community areas, but the building itself is unchanged.
