NETZSCH Arena
Selb, Germany
Formerly: Hutschenreuther Halle
The NETZSCH Arena sits in a town known for porcelain rather than football. It is an ice hockey hall, opened in 1977. When the Wolves took to the ice, the roof had not long been set in place.
What stands out is not the architecture but the function. The seating is mostly standing room. Security gates and access controls were fitted then, alongside dry rooms for the youth teams and a new ventilation system. The capacity sits just under 4,000. The original name, Hutschenreuther Halle, honored a local porcelain manufacturer.
There is no football pitch beneath the stand.
It is a ground that does not try to be anything other than what it is.
