Pavilhão da Luz Nº 2
Lisbon, Portugal
The Pavilhão da Luz Nº 2 sits tucked inside the Estádio da Luz complex. This indoor arena serves as the home for Benfica's handball teams in the Andebol 1 league. It opened in 2003.
Visitors stepping inside find a wooden parquet floor, the standard playing surface for handball and volleyball. The venue has seen history, most notably when Benfica’s men’s team won the EHF European League in 2021–22. Those matches were played on this floor.
Outside, the building is part of a larger sports district in the Benfica parish of Lisbon. Unlike its sister arena, the Pavilhão João Rocha, which once carried a sponsor's name, this venue has kept its original title. It hosts badminton and volleyball events as well, but the handball fans know it best.
