PEACESTADIUM Connected by SoftBank: Stadium in Nagasaki

The ground sits on land once occupied by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries factory. It opened in October 2024, replacing the Transcosmos Stadium. While the complex includes the HAPPINESS ARENA for concerts, this specific pitch belongs to the football club V-Varen Nagasaki.

The architecture does not shout; it sits quietly near the railway. Nagasaki Station lies less than a kilometre to the north, and the historic centre of the 1945 atomic bomb hypocenter is a mile further south. The capacity is just over 20,000, a figure that has not fluctuated since the doors first opened.

It is not an old shrine. There is no history of attendance records to recite, nor any ghostly echoes of past decades. The grass is natural, cut fresh for the J1 League season. SoftBank bought the naming rights in late 2022, ensuring the sign above the entrance reads PEACESTADIUM Connected by SoftBank. The club arrived here with the new campaign, having left behind the 1969-era facility.

Matches started immediately. The first official games pitted V-Varen against Tokyo giants, testing the new turf under floodlights. An international friendly in 2025 brought players like Takefusa Kubo through the gates, but the real work is done in the league. It is a functional space, built to last.
