SHG Arena

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Formerly: Prince Khalid bin Sultan Stadium

Riyadh has plenty of grounds, but this one has spent forty years under three different names, and the latest arrived without a brick being moved for it. Syndicate Holding Group put its name on the arena in September 2025, replacing the old Prince Khalid bin Sultan Stadium tag.

Al-Shabab have played here since it opened in 1984. It seats 15,000.

That changed in 2023, when the club put roughly 90 million riyals into rebuilding it and reopened the doors. The work has already paid off in ways beyond a fresh coat of paint: organisers have pencilled the ground in as one of the venues for the 2027 Asian Cup, a step up from hosting routine Al-Shabab league fixtures. The pitch stayed natural grass throughout, a detail that matters less for comfort than for keeping the surface within tournament standard.

The attendance record still belongs to a league night — 13,475 for Al-Shabab against Al-Ahli in May 2024, filling the rebuilt bowl close to capacity and giving some indication of what the ground can hold when the fixture is right.
