Gleisdorf's ground carries the name of the town's solar ambitions rather than any club sponsor, a rebrand from its earlier days as the Sparkassenstadion. That switch alone marks it out from the run of small Styrian venues still tied to a bank or a brewery.

What sets it apart locally is the company it has kept on the pitch. A ground built for a town side has twice hosted continental football well above its usual level: matches from the 2009 UEFA Women's Euro passed through Gleisdorf, and it later took fixtures in Euro U-19 qualifying. For a stadium of this size, that is not a small thing — most grounds its scale never see a shirt from outside the regional league.

Day to day, the natural grass pitch does the work, with a separate artificial training surface taking the load off it during the week. Nothing about the site suggests grandeur; it is a town stadium that happened to catch two European tournaments passing through Styria.
