It is home to South Hobart FC, who play in the National Premier Leagues Tasmania. The atmosphere here is defined by proximity; there is no value left at that number when it is full, and the stands are often touch and go during the colder months. The club has seen better days and worse, but the ground has stayed. It has hosted representative matches, including a game against Victoria in 1993, and more recently, NPL finals where the local side kept their side in it against tougher opposition. The official attendance record of 1,348 was set during an Australian Championship match against the Wollongong Wolves, a game that likely closed the stadium for the day. It is not a cathedral, but it is a place where the game is played without pretence.
