The ground in Khmelnytskyi sits on a site that was an old hippodrome in the 1920s, but the concrete you see now comes from a different era. Construction began in April 1950 and finished in the summer, with the official opening on 16 May 1950 , though the central block was redone again between 2001 and 2003.
