The pitch at the Stefan-Andres school centre exists because another one stopped existing. TuS Issel 1952 used to play at the old ground known as Zum Meulenwald; that site was closed and sold off for housing. The replacement opened on 28 September 2007, with the Rhineland-Palatinate interior minister, Karl-Peter Bruch, on hand for the ceremony.

It is a shared object rather than a club's own, and the money behind it says as much. The build cost 1.6 million euros: one million from the Rhineland-Palatinate state government, 320,000 from the Trier-Saarburg district, and the rest from the town of Schweich and the Dietrich Bonhoeffer foundation. The district owns it. Classified as a Typ C facility, it serves school sport during the week and the club at weekends, which is the arrangement that made the artificial surface worth paying for.

The two TuS Issel sides who use it sit a long way apart. The men play in the Kreisliga C15 Trier-Saarburg. The women are in the Regionalliga Südwest, the fourth tier of the women's game in Germany, and they arrived at the school centre from the ground by the swimming baths, where they had previously played their home matches.
