St. Mary's Stadium

St. Mary’s Stadium is located in Southampton.

The ground opened in 2001 on a disused gas works site in the city centre. It replaced The Dell to meet the requirements of the Taylor Report. The club moved back to the area near the church where it was founded, building a four-stand bowl with a capacity of 32,689. The original name, The Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium, was dropped in 2006 when the club decided to keep the historic name after sponsorship rights were not sold to Flybe.

The playing surface is a Desso GrassMaster hybrid system, natural grass reinforced with synthetic fibres for stability. In 2024, the stadium underwent significant internal reconfiguration to introduce safe standing areas. Over 7,000 seats in the Northam Stand were converted to rail seats following a campaign that began in 2017. The away fans' section was relocated from the Northam Stand to a corner section of the Chapel and Kingsland Stands.

England’s men’s national team has played two senior internationals here, including a 2–2 draw against North Macedonia in 2002. The women’s team has hosted multiple matches, including an 8–0 win against North Macedonia in 2021. The stadium also hosted three Group A matches of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 in July 2022: Norway vs Northern Ireland, Austria vs Northern Ireland, and Northern Ireland vs England. A notable concert by Take That on 2 June 2024 set a record attendance for the stadium at 61,320.
