In the Val Gardena valley, HC Gherdëina play their games here, having moved into Strada Nives 17 after a mudslide destroyed their previous home in Ortisei. The merger that created the side happened the same year, joining players from a local rival that had won the Serie B championship three times.

The altitude puts a different kind of pressure on the players. At 1,561 meters above sea level, the air is thin, and the matches are played inside a shell of timber. The surface is synthetic, so the ice does not melt when the sun finds the windows.

The capacity is 2,000 spectators, a number that has not changed. Alongside the hockey, the venue hosts figure skating and curling.
