Stadion am Hölzchen

Stadion am Hölzchen sits on Arneburger Straße and serves as the home of 1. FC Lok Stendal.

There is no floodlighting and no pitch heating.

The current structure replaced an older one that opened in 1910. That earlier site was the Viktoria-Sportplatz Heinrichslust, used by Viktoria Stendal. During the GDR era it carried the name Wilhelm-Helfers-Kampfbahn and hosted BSG Lokomotive Stendal, who played in the DDR-Oberliga until 1968. A new stadium opened in 2004, with the first match in the new configuration played on April 10, 2005.

The capacity is 6,500. It does not hold the record set on May 31, 1970, when 14,000 people watched BSG Lokomotive Stendal play 1. FC Union Berlin in a DDR-Liga match. That crowd belongs to the old ground.

The venue has also seen Eintracht Stendal and FSV Lok Altmark Stendal. There is another stadium with the same name in Hettstedt, but this one is the one associated with the local club and the 6,500 capacity.
