The football tribune interiors and the changing rooms were part of the same job, but the track is what matters now. The capacity is listed as 10,000, a number that feels generous for a town that does not expect to fill it, and the operational limit sits closer to 7,000. There are not many seats—28 in some counts, 600 in others—but the standing room makes up the difference. The pitch is natural grass, worn by use.

The name does not change. It is Štadión Čadca, or perhaps Mestský štadión v Čadca, depending on who is speaking. The street carries the date 1941, but that is a commemorative honour, not a record of when the first whistle blew. The ground has been here since before the numbers were fixed, and it will stay here after they are forgotten.
