KF Ballkani play their league football in Suva Reka, but when European nights come round the team packs up for Pristina and the Fadil Vokrri , because the city ground does not meet what UEFA asks of a venue at that level.
That gap has a date behind it. Kosovo joined UEFA and FIFA in 2016, and the standards that arrived with membership landed on a ground that had been built for local needs and nothing more. Work followed — seating, floodlighting, the ordinary comforts a visiting inspector counts — but it has not closed the distance.
The names it has carried tell the same story of a municipal ground rather than a commercial one. Suva Reka City Stadium , Theranda City Stadium , the city's own name in whichever language is doing the asking: there is no sponsor on the sign and never has been. What it is called depends on who is writing.
Until that is settled, Ballkani's arrangement stands as it is.
