Stadium
Steel Aréna
Košice, Slovakia
Formerly: Zimný štadión L. Trojáka
The Steel Aréna in Košice is a purpose-built indoor arena.
The surface itself is artificial ice, maintained by mechanical refrigeration systems rather than natural cold, which is standard for professional ice hockey venues in regions with mild winters.
The arena opened in 2006, replacing an older winter stadium that had served the city for decades. It was constructed with the involvement of U.S.
The Steel Aréna remains focused on ice hockey, primarily as the home of HC Košice. Recent work around 2024 improved energy efficiency and lighting, ensuring the facility remains competitive for hosting higher-profile games.
