The ground sits on Továrenská, out at the industrial edge of Zlaté Moravce, and it was built for one purpose: a club that had existed for three years when the first match was played on it. FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce were founded in 1995, the stadium followed in 1998.

That pattern is clearest in 2007. The club won the Slovak Cup. A second reconstruction came in 2014–2015, the earlier phase costing 1.4 million euros with state support. The original capacity had been 3,300.

For a stadium of this size, the visitor list is the unusual part. Slovakia's senior side played here, including a friendly against Iceland on 25 March 2008, lost 1–2. That evening produced the attendance record — 4,120 — the venue staged group matches at the 2013 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

The surface is artificial.

The ground carries two names. It opened as Štadión FC ViOn and is now known as ViOn Aréna.
