Valley Road Ground
Devonport, Australia
Formerly: Valley Road Soccer Centre
Valley Road Ground sits where three Devonport suburbs meet. The facility is the home of Devonport City FC, who also answer to the name Strikers. Built on council land, the ground was officially opened in 1972 after a collaboration between the local authority and the football club.
It is not a large venue. With a standard capacity of around 1,250, it is the only ground in town for the sport. The pitch is natural grass.
The ground is best known for hosting matches that outgrow the local scale. In 2016, it held an attendance record of 3,168 for an Australia Cup match against Bentleigh Greens SC. It also hosted a game against Wellington Phoenix in 2022.
While the ground was a proposed venue for base camps for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, with upgrades completed in April 2022 to meet standards, it was not selected.
